🪞 Reflection:

Having surgery for the first time ever felt like such a dream. My body was so relaxed to the point that the nurses thought I was asleep. (I actually did fall asleep). I wanted it and needed it. It felt like I had been waiting for so long, I had been fighting for this moment. The toll I paid then now feels like a penny but when I was saving up I felt so scared. I asked for help online, sharing the experience with those who supported me. The world was good and so were the people. The fighting spirit overwhelmed me when I woke up from the anesthesia. I was genuinely smiling and laughing for the first time in what felt like forever. I was cut and sewn, I felt gratitude at being able to come out the other end still.
