It’s been some time since the last update but we bring about new memories and experiences! Ghostly Goods Zone (GGZ) made a first time appearance at the well known and well loved Los Feliz Flea! As shown in the image above, Los Feliz Flea (LFF) was packed with both vendors and guests.
Setting Up

This iteration of LFF took place on Saturday July 10th 2021 at Marshall High School in Los Angeles California. Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was the plethora of vendors and food options! It reminded us of our early days at conventions such as the Anime Expo Artist Alley, that place was always packed with artists from all over the world. We were even reminded of our days on the early internet on MMORPGs such as Maple Story’s on their Free Market map, there would be many vendors there too selling their digital inventory. However, as exciting as it was to see a community in action again, we didn’t take the chance to explore just yet as everyone was busy setting up.
The set up was similar the set up at SFV Pride: we had a tent, a clothing rack, a table, and a chair. The table was able to accommodate a few bags and some art, the clothing rack featured bags to the front and clothing from shortest sleeve to longest.
The newest addition to the inventory were the Bleached Crop Series. Each one appeared in an Emerald color with unique textures all around. It felt appropriate to premiere such items during that exceptionally warm Saturdayπ
The “Love Specter Crop Top” found a home with a passing guest. We did not get the chance to ask their name but the straw hat that they wore was such an amazing accessory to block the sun, it reminded us of the one we have in our personal inventory. There was a side conversation with that guest about GGZ‘s future plans. We did not reveal much but we did reveal plans to bring our mascot Animas from the dead π»πβ¨

As with SFV Pride, many guests were interested in our art, the GGZ stall had some pieces hanging from the tent in order to call attention to guests, indeed we received many looks and excitement! The person pictured above found love in this original artwork. The piece features an original character named Najalis singing some lyrics from Mazzy Star’s “Dissapear“. Looking at this image again the person holding it seems to be the spitting image of Hope Sandoval! Wow, how fitting π β¨β Hope they’re enjoying their piece!
Exploring the Market

As the day wore on GGZ decided to take a break and explore the Market. It was bustling! From new and vintage apparel to handcrafted desserts to curated pieces for a home, it seemed as if you could find anything you wanted! And just as delightful were the guests who milled about, it seemed as if everyone came dressed to impress! Many lovely outfits and costumes were witnessed. Next time we hope to catch some snap shots πΈπβ¨

Another curious detail of the event was the fact that the venue had many artistic details and decorations all around. There were mini murals everywhere but the most curious detail were these electrical outlet boxes that imitated details from famous paintings, such as Dali’s “The Persistence of Memory”, van Gogh’s “Starry Night”, and Klimt like gold detailing much like his “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer”.
The original’s themselves are magnificent but seeing these details which were likely painted by the students gives us hope for a future generation filled with art.
Lastly, as part of the exploration Ghost of Color went around the venue introducing themselves to guests and other vendors, passing out these captivating business cards. Was it a bit nerve wrecking to our semi introverted ghost? Absolutely! But those feelings dissipated as many made comments and excited expressions about how the art was so cute and it was good to know that the intent was felt. We learned that people love random events and even more so when its a cute little card.
On a side note, these cards are meant to be collected! Once these run out new ones with a new detail will be printed. Perhaps there’s a future in this as well… π»
Ghost of Color Signing Off…

We hope that reading this report has proven insightful and entertaining. GGZ has thus taken another step in the creative and social journey. In the future we aim to continue making memories in the Physical Realm, beginning with our local community and venturing out, across plains and crossing the earthly waters. Where we will end up we don’t know, the wind will guide us like a leaf blowing in the wind, hopefully ending up somewhere near you π¬ππΈ
We also aim to make digital memories as well with our guide Animas. Perhaps they will make an appearance during the next report, they have just woken up and are a bit groggy…
Once again, thank you for reading, it was good to see you and we hope to meet again soon.
